It’s everywhere these days– you can find it bottled in supermarkets, brewed at every coffee shop, and even sold as concentrates at small food truck vendors and independent retailers. This smooth coffee concoction is known for being less acidic than hot brewed coffee and offers a unique flavor profile that requires a “set it and forget it” approach to brewing. Cold brew is coffee that is extracted via the combination of coffee grounds, room temperature or cold water, and time. As opposed to hot coffee, cold brew takes 12-18 hours to make, but the results are starkly different.
Cold brew coffee is less acidic than coffee brewed with hot water, making it a hit with those who have sensitive stomachs or experience bad acid reflux (depending on the person).
One great thing about cold brew is that you can make it in advance and in batches, so it's perfect for those with busy lifestyles . Cold brew lasts up to 10 days in the fridge and can be diluted and used in most coffee drink recipes (including ours).
