I tried a 12oz bag first to see if I liked them. I've always drank 100% Arabica. I found the description for Truegrit stating it has bitter melon notes. I was hesitant, however, these 100% Peaberry Robusta beans did NOT have a bitter taste to me at all. I found them very pleasant to drink & to drink black. They are a more medium roast, brighter, lighter & with a very pleasant flavor. For me, far superior in their taste profile in comparison to the darker roast 100% Arabica I have been familiar with & used to. It just wasn't giving me the pick me up I needed & wanted from just one cup.
I was not aware of Robusta beans at all as my hubby always said 100% Arabica beans are the best, so I never looked beyond that. ( I was not happy though and started looking for something with more caffeine & a good flavor.
"Robusta, where have you been?" You are everything I have been looking for in a cup of coffee and then some more!
