I’ve never been a huge coffee drinker. I was obsessed with the phin filter and how it worked. I made my first purchase of Hanoi, and I was instantly hooked. Since, I’ve tried every variety NCS has to offer. But Hanoi has my heart. It’s the best of their roasts in my opinion. The flavor profile is just that good! Iced, hot, cold brew… I’ve made them all with Hanoi. Each one is amazing! And the robusta caffeine boost is legit! I will forever be a Nguyen Coffee Supply customer.

The Quintessential Vietnamese Coffee Flavor
After ordering the original Vietnamese coffee trio, we impulse-added a bag of Hanoi to our order. Best decision ever. It was by far our favorite - good complexity and a subtly sweet, butterscotchy flavor whether through a phin, in a french press, or as a pourover. I have been interested in Vietnamese coffee ever since a trip to Vietnam 12 years ago where I went home with 12 kg of beans. Savoring Nguyen Coffee Supply's 100% Robusta blends took me back to those first experiences. If you want to try for yourself, the Hanoi blend is a great place to start!

Long ago, I discovered I prefer the taste profile of robusta beans, rather than arabica. But it is difficult to find pure robusta. I found something I like on Amazon, but it isn't sustainable, the nature of the supplier is not so good and they roast the beans with sugar and chocolate (as per their web page). I found Nguyen, which seems to have it all - great, sustainable robusta beans and a good company culture. I ordered directly from Nguyen, although they are also available on Amazon. I found that the taste improved after 3-5 days, so I think they ship soon after roasting, which is great. That way you can choose when you like it best. Nguyen is my new favorite! I'm comparing Hanoi to TrueGrit now, but leaning towards Hanoi. One suggestion to Nguyen is to print the roast date on the package. I am practicing the pronunciation, following the video :-).
